SEEING A WHITE DEER
By S. C. Turnbo

Mr. John B. Hudson, an old timer of the valley of Crooked Creek, in giving his observations and experience as a hunter in Marion County, Ark., said that he seen a white deer one day on the Bluffy Fork of Jimmies Creek. "There were 11 common colored deer with it and the white one was the leader. I was afoot and carried my rifle and followed the bunch of deer over the rough hills and across steep hollows for 3 miles to put in a shot at the white one but it was too shy and kept out of gun shot range. This was in the second year of war times," said Mr. Hudson.
