IT WAS A PRETTY SIGHT
By S. C. Turnbo
"I have met many interesting scenes in the forest, said Mr. John Tabor, son of Henry Tabor, "but the most beautiful sight I ever witnessed in the Ozark hills was 20 deer in a bunch on the dividing ridge between Bear and Long Creeks in Carroll County, Ark. The deer were equally divided between bucks and does. The does would run, play and frisk around and the bucks would pitch at each other and clash their horns together and separate similar to cattle. I had no gun or dog with me and I sat on my horse and watched these beautiful creatures some time while they were so pleasantly engaged in their playful humor."
