Be it remembered that at a Regular Term of the Circuit Court of Greene County, begun and held on the first Monday in January 1866 at the Court House in the City of Springfield, Greene County, Missouri, there was present:

when and where the following proceedings were had, to wit:
Now at this day comes John A. Patterson, Sheriff of Greene County and returns into Court the following venire facias to constitute a Grand Jury viz James S. Vaughan, who was by the Court appointed foreman of said Grand Jury (1) J.L. Lewis C2) F.W. Sholton C3) James Keltner (4) Martin Alsup (5) L.L. Whitlock(6) John M. Bingham (7) Hugh Boyd (8) P. Garton (9) Nathan Phillips (10) Alsey Oneal (11) Jefferson Kinser (12) C.T. Drumrite (13) C.C. Turner (14) R.H. Williamson (15) John Harkness (16) George W. Dillard (17 Seventeen good and Lawful men, who having taken and subscribed the oath required by the Third Section of the Second Article of the Constitution of the State of Missouri and having sworn to well and truly enquire within and for the County of Greene and having received the charge and instructions of the Court, retire to consider of their presentments.
Now at this day comes M.F. Geiger, who having shown to the satisfaction of the Court that he has taken and subscribed the oath prescribed by the Constitution of the State of Missouri. It is ordered by the Court that he be permitted to sign the Roll of Attorneys.
Now at this day comes Samuel M. Keiland, who having shown to the satisfaction of the Court that he has taken and subscribed the oath prescribed by the Constitution of the State of Missouri. It is ordered by the Court that he be permitted to sign the Roll of Attorneys.

Now at this day comes the Circuit Attorney who prosecutes on behalf of the State of Missouri and this cause coming on for a final hearing the Court doth find from an examination of the same that at the July Term of the Greene Circuit Court 1865 an alias scira facias was ordered to issue in this cause to Henry C. Young and Bedford W. Henslee, securities of the said Jerome J. Leeper, notifying them to be and appear on the first day of the present term of this Court and show cause if any why the forfeiture of recognizance entered in this cause should not be made final and the Court further finds from an examination of the Sheriff's return to said scira facias that the same was served on said H.C. Young and B.W. Henslee by reading the same to them in the presence of two witnesses and the said Young and Henslee having wholly failed to appear to show cause as aforesaid it is therefore considered and adjudged by the Court that the forfeiture of recognizance in this cause be made final and that the State of Missouri have and recover of and from said Henry C. Young and Bedford W. Henslee her said forfeiture of five hundred dollars and also her costs in this behalf laid out and expended and that she have an execution therefor.

Whereupon it is ordered that the Sheriff of Greene County bring said Defendant John Page before this Court on Friday the 5th of January that said petition be inquired into and such orders be made in the premises as may be deeined proper.

Now at this day comes the Plantiffs by their Attorney John M. Richardson and shows to the Court the property of the Defendant in this cause has been attached and that the Defendant had not appeared at the return term of the Writ and that the Sheriff had returned that said Defendant and could not be summoned and Plaintiff further showing to the Court that the Defendant in this cause is not a resident of the State of Missouri. It is therefore ordered by the Court that publication be made notifying said Defendant that an action has been commenced against him by petition and attachment in the Circuit Court of Greene County in the State of Missouri founded on a note for $300 dated 14th day of January 1860 payable 12 months after date. That his property has been attached and that unless he be and appear at the next term of said Court to be holden at the Court House in Springfield in the County and State aforesaid on the 3rd day thereof if the term shall so long continue and if not then before the end of the term and plead answer or demur to Plaintiff's petition the same will be taken as confessed and judgment rendered and his property sold to satisfy the same. It is further ordered that a copy hereof be published in the Springfield Journal, a newspaper published in this State for

Now at this day comes Otto Herring and files his petition in Open Court asking to be made a Naturalized Citizen of the United States. And the Court finds from an examination of said petition that the said Otto Herring is a native of Prussia and that he has been a resident of the United States for more than six years and for six years last past a resident of the State of Missouri and that he has been for more than one year in the Military Service of the United States and has an Honorable Discharge from said Service. It is therefore ordered by the Court that the said Otto Herring be admitted to all the rights and privileges of a natural born citizen of the United States on taking the oath required in such cases by Act of Congress.
