Black Culture Week 1981

"The Reverend Rufus Walker of the Washington Avenue Baptist Church and the Reverend Vance Jenkins of the Mount Eagle Baptist Church share a laugh with David Hutchinson at a dinner in Drury College’s Findlay Student Center in honor of the Washington Avenue Baptist Church. The Monday Evening event was part of Black Culture Week."

Throughout the week BUIC planned multiple events, including: a dinner in honor of Washington Avenue Baptist Church; a service honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.; an exhibit of sculpture; showing of the movies 'A Hero Ain't Nothin' But a Sandwich', 'The Man', and 'Stormy Weather;’ a fashion show; talent show; and a dance.
