Two Instruments a World Apart Strum at Libraries July 6 and 9

Enjoy the music of two different and traditional string instruments featured at two library programs sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

On Thursday, July 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library Station Frisco Room, musician Sean Gaskell will give a performance and an educational demonstration on the kora, an ancient, 21-string harp from West Africa. He will feature traditional songs that are the heart and soul of the kora's musical repertoire. For details call 417-865-1340.

The Second Sunday Concert at 2 p.m. July 9 in the Library Center auditorium will showcase The Dulcimer Guy, Mike Anderson, with a collection of songs, stories and a wide variety of strange musical instruments to entertain the entire family. For more information call 417-882-0714.
